Glossar
that Hubwerkpedestal Is a stable platform or console on the mast of a stacker (RGB), which serves as an assembly base for the entire hoist.
The lift motor, gearbox and cable drum are securely mounted on this platform. The pedestal safely transfers the high forces generated by lifting and lowering into the mast structure. It often serves as a maintenance platform at the same time.
Hoist platforms are an integral part of stacker cranes in which the hoist is arranged “moving along” on the mast or on the mast head (so-called “head drive”).
The placement of the hoist on a pedestal enables a compact design and optimised weight distribution. It also improves accessibility for maintenance and service work on the lift drive.
