Glossar
A new intralogistics plant refers to the complete replanning and implementation of an in-house logistics system, often on the “green field” (Greenfield).
The project covers the entire process: from strategic planning and technical advice to engineering the material flow, procurement of components (stacker cranes, conveyor technology) and commissioning. Unlike a RetroFit, the system is redesigned from scratch.
A new plant is built when a new logistics location is built or the capacities of an old plant are finally exhausted and modernization would be uneconomical.
A new plant enables the implementation of cutting-edge, highly efficient technologies that are perfectly tailored to business processes. This results in maximum performance and sustainability, but requires higher investments than a retrofit.
