Die Rope pulley is a critical mechanical component in the lifting system of a stacker (RGB). It is a rotatably mounted wheel with a groove, which is used to guide and deflect the hoist cable.
The rope runs in the groove of the rope pulley. Cable pulleys are used to change the direction of the rope from the hoist to the hoist sled or to optimize forces via a pulley effect.
Cable pulleys can be found in every cable-operated hoist of a stacker, crane or hoist. Their arrangement defines the course of the rope and the kinematics of the system.
Pulleys allow a flexible construction of the lift drive. As highly stressed parts, they are subject to wear and must be regularly inspected and replaced as necessary to prevent cable damage and failures.
